God Sent Me a Reminder Through Someone Else’s Eyes
How confirmation found me when I needed it most.

It’s funny—what we see in a mirror is never exactly what others see.
I realized this recently, thanks to a coworker. We’ve only known each other for a few short months, and I hadn’t shared much—just a few business ideas I was working on. I didn’t allow her to see my true personality, my personal struggles, or the pains I carry.
And yet… she saw them anyway.
Her discernment? Top tier. I laugh now thinking about it.

A Saturday Morning Conversation
One early Saturday morning, I shared a little more with her about an event. The organizer had decided to remove me from speaking—a story for another day.
She looked at me and simply said:
“Keep helping broken people.”
That line hit me. Deeply.
I’ve always known that helping others heal and find their voice is my purpose—but hearing her say it, seeing it reflected back to me, made it real in a whole new way.
We spent the rest of the weekend laughing at the things we do for our companies—mind you, we work for competing companies. But in our world, there’s no real competition.

The Song That Spoke to Me
The following weekend, Rhonda came up to me as usual.
“Hey, I heard this song yesterday and it reminded me of you. You know everything you’re trying to accomplish, and all the roadblocks trying to deny you.”
I thought: What song could this possibly be?
She pulled out her phone, handed it to me, pressed play—and walked away to start her work.
As I listened, tears welled in my eyes.
It felt like this song was written just for me. I wanted to stop it—crying at work isn’t exactly professional—but I couldn’t.
By the time the song ended, I had tissues in hand.
I walked over to thank her. She simply reminded me that God had me—not that I doubted it, but it felt like confirmation.

A Sign I Needed
What Rhonda didn’t know was that, before coming to work that day, I had sat in my car and prayed:
“God, if what I’m doing is what you want from me, please show me. Give me a sign.”
And He did.
⸻
Thank you, Rhonda, for seeing me—even when I tried to hide my struggles.
By the way, the song was “Celebrate Me” by IngaRose.
A Reminder
Sometimes God will use people to remind us of who we are…
especially when we forget.
If this spoke to you, take it as your reminder:
You are seen. You are called. And your purpose is still valid—no matter the obstacles.
